I am a splenda sufferer too, as it makes me sick and the mere fact that the spelenda labels or (Sucralose)Should have bigger labels or something cause its ridilicious to ingest something unbeknown that it has this crud in it and be sick for 3 days after the fact. :( I think something needs to be done so that the public who chooses and those who don't want to ingest it, knows that this food product contains something that is harmful for them. So I have to read everything that I buy so it don't come into my house, but cause of the tiny splenda symbol or lack it does by accident get into my house.

I've read through every testimonial on this site and was suprised that I didn't find the problem I've been having. It's not severe by any means. I've been dieting for 4 months and have lost 32 lbs.. Everything was great, until about a week ago. I have 3 8oz cups of coffee each morning each containing one packet of splenda. Recently, halfway through through my day, I get a rotten taste in my mouth. My stomach is not sour, my breath is not bad. But this taste in my mouth and nose is so unplesant that it effects my whole mood until I go to bed. Lunch and dinner taste of rotten eggs. Nothing can get rid of it!! By morning, it's gone. My morning coffee isn't worth this!

Used splenda for years, no matter how much, no side effects whatsoever, in perfect health. There is no scientific proof it causes illnesses - I am a medical professional - I've researched it. It's interesting how gullible people can be when all these critiques are on a Stevia website. But I bet there is a website out there that also claims STEVIA causes illnesses as well. (no doubt selling some other competing product). Does anyone consider that they'd have illnesses regardless of using artificial sweetner? I drank some water today - oh, I have a headache - must be WATER that is causing it! Everyone stop drinking water!!

I personally don't use much sugar, or ANY artificial sweeteners. . . knowingly. My wife, the diabetic, however, does. Last summer I needed to make up some simple syrup for our hummingbird feeders. I grabbed a canister from the shelf that I thought had sugar in it. I made the syrup according to recipe [1 cup sugar to 1 qt water] and filled the feeders. The next morning when I looked out the kitchen window, I was stunned to see one of the hummers hanging upside down from the perch. I checked another feeder and found the same thing. The third feeder, without a perch, had two dead birds lying on the ground below it. I couldn't dump the feeders out fast enough. While I realize that the hummers got a higher dosage than humans would take in comparison, I also must wonder what long term damage it must be doing to people, especially those who think they are making healthy choices by avoiding sugar and using substitutes. I would rather see a diabetic use sugar than the unnatural substitutes available. I have Stevia liquid and powder both on the counter for daily use.

I have MS so I am pretty careful about whatI put in my body. I have been making things with Splenda and taking it in my coffee for several months and have noticed after I consume baked goods or something with Splenda in it I cannot stay awake I feel drugged. I also have a tingling in my feet and a creepy feeling in my legs. My stomach has also been bothering me.After reading some of the comments here I am going to quit using Splenda. I have tried Stevia and Xylitol but they are a little pricey.

I've drank alot of diet pop since they began using aspertane in it. Recently was hospitalized for fast, irregular heartbeat. When I was released I tried to do some research on my own. I am diabetic and dropped the pop with asperane in it and switched to those with splenda. I've also used Equal and Splenda in tea and on about everything else. Until I dropped both products my blood sugar was high generally even with diabetic medication. After dropping both products my blood sugar is no longer high. To the point I may be able to go off all 3 diabetic medications I've been on since 2001. The stevia has no effect on keeping my sugar high.

Wow! I just read some of the things written here and I can't beleive it has taken me this long to figure out whats wrong with me. I started a new diet about 5 months ago and have lost 30 punds so I am very happy with the results, except that about a month ago I started feeling realy bad. I have passed out twice and have had stomach cramps, nausea, dizziness, diareha, panic attacks, shakeness, and so on. My doctor can't figure out what the problem is, so I finaly thought to start taking notes on what i'm eating and try to figure it out from there. Well needless to say I consume alot of splenda in a day and after reading this i'm not using it anymore. I didn't have any in my morning coffee and so far I feel fine, only time will tell. Thanks to all for your experanices, I'm sure this is whats wrong with me!

Like many who've left comments on this site or the Splenda site, I have been using Splenda for at least 5 years with no noticable side effects. I usually only have it in my coffee (one or 1 coffees per day & only in the morning). Last week I made a batch of pickled coleslaw using Splenda instead of sugar. The slaw lasted for a couple days and I noticed it (b)leached? the red out of the red cabbage as it aged... after eating the slaw I also wound up with the severe stomach pains and nausea that some have complained about. After researching Splenda today, I am prepared to conclude that stripping out the Hydrogen and Oxygen and substition of Chlorine atoms in suger to get "Splenda" was likely the cause of my reaction to the coleslaw I made with this product. Final Conclusion... in my morning coffee I use a small enough dose not to react to it VISIBLY. In larger doses used in cooking, I DO react to it... I am making the commitment to eliminate it from my life!

Hey guys, i've been on splenda(heavily) for the past two weeks and still taking my medication for hypo. -levothyroxine- ; to really confess the truth, i don't feel any particular symptom infact i feel better than i've felt in two years without my medication. For me, Splenda ain't that bad afterall but like i said earlier, i'll still cut it out completely for another two weeks while still on my medication, then check to see if i feel any different. The end point i think, is that each individual has a different reaction to every substance be it organic or inorganic. Keep in touch :).
