Sugar can affect the body in many ways. Sensitivity to sugar can cause a lot of pain to your body such as, headaches, panic attacks, bad temper, insomnia, hostility, mood swings, and despair. The majority of people know that a sugar-rich diet can also cause type-2 diabetes, obesity, and inflammation.
Several food products contain sugar and can be very hard for the body to digest. Studies have shown our bodies actually work harder in sugars afterburn to re-establish metabolic homeostasis.
When a person has an overload of sugar it can upset the sense of balance of intestinal flora in their digestive process and can cause symptoms of intestinal agony such as swelling, bloating, spasms, and gas. In fact, the intake of too much sugar can even reduce serotonin levels - the neurotransmitter that has been connected to various levels of depression when levels are lower than normal in a person’s body. Low levels of serotonin can even act as a catalyst that triggers one’s sugar cravings.
One main side effect of sugar that many people already know is tooth decay. Several kids and adults eat or drink sweets everyday. The worst thing that causes cavities is anything that sticks to the teeth such as caramel or taffy. If kids eat too many sweets at one time, there is a short-term drop in their blood sugar level about 2 to 4 hours after eating the sweets. Therefore, make sure your kids don’t eat their sweets all day long, but every once in awhile is just fine. Always make sure kids brush their teeth regularly after eating and if they eat really sweet foods or drinks, have them brush after that as well.
