For the past 2-3 years, from newspaper health columns & Time Magazine I have learned of potential dangers of too much high fructose corn syrup. Since then, I read processed foods labels diligently, and have made the same discovery as others, that virtually every processed food contains high fructose corn syrup, and now aspartame. We are being blugeoned with the potential to become diabetics if we consume too many processed foods and fail to read the ingredients labels on processed foods. I am disgusted - I live near farmlands, and every year I see cornfield after cornfield - these farmers are receiving federal subsidies - no wonder we are a nation of fatties. I hope people come to their senses with this economic downturn, and decline a lot of processed foods. The government and FDA apparently are doing nothing to help Americans maintain healthy body weights.
