Stevia Touted As Powerful Weight Loss Aid
Posted on August 15, 2007 under Health
People who regularly enjoy tea made from stevia leaves or concentrate report that it reduces their appetite, especially for sweet and fatty foods.
And current research is confirming that stevia is indeed an effective aid in weight loss. One of the reasons that people overeat is due to a faulty signal between the stomach and the hypothalamus in the brain. In a normal person, when the stomach is full, it sends a distinct signal to the brain, the person feels the sensation of being full, and stops eating. But in certain obese people, the signal is never received, and the person eats more food than the body can process. And that’s where stevia comes in. It possesses the ability to reset the hunger mechanism, in effect flipping the hunger switch into “off” position when the stomach is full.
So stevia is quickly becoming one of the most powerful weight loss and weight management aids ever to be discovered! For people who have difficulty managing their weight, all they need to do is add stevia to their daily diets. This could be in the form of whole or pulverized stevia leaves, the natural dark concentrate or just tablets. The tablets are a convenient dietary supplement; each tablet is the equivalent of 30 drops of water-based stevia concentrate. And stevia liquid concentrate or powder is a terrific sugar substitute in cooking and baking!
Some people take 30 drops of stevia concentrate two to three times daily to help manage their blood sugar levels. Some physicians recommend six to eight drops six times daily. Others take stevia supplements to help lower blood pressure and support the pancreas. And some enjoy using stevia liquid concentrate to heal skin problems. Concentrated tonic tea tablets are also very popular because they’re so quick and convenient to take. Some experts are remarking that stevia may be one of the most important nutritional discoveries of the century!
